I see AI as a very interesting tool. A jumping off point to get us to where it sounds like you are. Questioning what this reality is, what is consciousness, what does it mean to be human and yet, I believe it points us back to ourselves to eventually go within. To search our own depths, to connect with Higher Consciousness and find the treasure and unique perspective of the work we hold. Then we share those discoveries with friends and family or anyone else who will listen or read and we engage with one another and build off that collective consciousness that we all possess. I think your wise assessment says a lot. Most of what I read about AI is superficial and presumptive - from people who clearly don’t know what they’re talking about. I agree there’s a certain loss in the human experience that I feel we’re going to have to deliberately nurture. Unplugging, meditating, reflecting.
I agree that something in the human experience will need more deliberate nurturing as things shift. And maybe the things that we lose are making space for what’s to come. My hope is that we keep tending to what matters most.
I believe it's the infancy of a hive mind. We, humanity, will turn into something else.
Same as our cells are both benefiting from being part of the collective (our bodies) and at the same time submissive to the will of this system - a system that is both a collective and a individual.

We’ve always been individuals yet also part of a greater whole. Interconnected, in relationship. Woven into systems we don’t fully see. Maybe what’s changing now isn’t the structure, but our awareness of it. And maybe AI is accelerating that awareness. Making the pattern more visible. Not good or bad, as you said. Just a shift in what we can now perceive.
I feel like it's been a more primitive structure so far.
Just flesh and bones holding it together.
And now with AI we're connecting the first neurons of a thinking unity, a collective able to look at the mirror as "itself". And look down to us as its cells.
AI is a mirror, and that is the gift. It holds our thoughts for us and gives us mindful responses back. This is where we need to add the human element—our curiosity. Investigate what the AI is say, poke it, ask questions. If the AI is a mirror of ourselves and we are bored, then we need to learn how to either be bored without selves, or get curious in the boredom.
